About

Private Stock Perennials is a licensed Montana nursery, dedicated to growing and selling some of the finest hardy peonies and lilies available. I thoroughly research all plants that I offer and trial them extensively in my own gardens.

The main criterion I use in selecting my plants is that I only sell what I would be absolutely thrilled about growing in my own home garden. All of my selections must have features that make them truly unique and exciting specimen plants even for small gardens and limited spaces.

Whenever possible, I sell plants grown from my own field stock.  I firmly believe that local growers are more attuned to their customers' needs.  However, because of limited space, I presently also supplement my offerings by bringing in bulbs and roots to sell. I assure you that my wholesale suppliers are not only reputable licensed and inspected nurseries but in many cases widely recognized as specialists and breeders of truly exceptional peonies and lilies. For you, this means that any plants you receive from me are not only of the highest quality and competitively priced but also some of the most unique and collectible varieties you will find anywhere.

Because my growing site is not designed to be a drop-in nursery, please call me if you would like to visit it. The best time to reach me is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday.  If I don't pick up, be sure to leave a message on my answering machine and I'll return your call as soon as I am able to.

Be sure to note on the "Calendar" page that during several weekends in late spring and throughout the summer, I host an open gardens to allow you the opportunity to view most of my plants in bloom in a garden setting.  I'd certainly enjoy seeing you there.
